The History of the Blues

The History of the Blues is a survey of the roots of the blues form on the trumpet through a collection of 26 note-for-note transcriptions that span 100 years from Louis Armstrong’s Potato Head Blues to Till Brönner’s Till Blues. This collection progresses right from the beginning of the genre beginning with Armstrong, then moving through Buck Clayton, Roy Eldridge, Fats Navarro, Clifford Brown, Lee Morgan, Miles Davis, Kenny Dorham, Blue Mitchell, Freddie Hubbard, Clark Terry, Roy Hargrove Wynton Marsalis, and many more.
