For the fans of Claudio Roditi: I wrote out a couple of his best albums with Paquito D’Rivera and qPress just released them. The Keystone Corner was one of the first recordings I got from one of my teachers (Eddie Engels) who was a friend of Claudio. This one is my favorite. Manhattan Burn is a great Studio Album from the same period.
Claudio played with Dizzy’s United Nations Orchestra for a long time, together with Paquito D’Rivera and Arturo Sandoval.
I was fortunate to play once with him in Germany which of course was great fun. He died much to young a few years ago.
