Antonio Lauro (1917 – 1986) was a Venezuelan guitar player and considered to be one of the foremost South American composers for the guitar in the 20th century. I discovered his music by listening to a track called Valse Criollo played by Paquito d’Rivera and was intrigued by it. So I decided to arrange some of his waltzes into duets. Here are 5 demos I recorded with Katharina Thomsen at the baritone saxophone.
